​Introduction to Sign Language Class

Sign Language Beginner Class

Suitable for beginners and students with zero foundation.

Course content: Preliminary explanation of the basic characteristics of sign language, the teaching of basic vocabulary, the English alphabet, etc.

Students will mainly learn short daily sentences, and at the same time have a preliminary understanding of deaf culture. Sign language is sometimes learned in the form of mini-games to help students absorb the content.

Face-to-face teaching (8 lessons, 120 minutes each): HK$580 for non-members; HK$480 for members 

Online teaching (10 lessons, 90 minutes each): HK$560 for non-members; HK$460 for members 

Sign Language Advanced Class

Suitable for students who have been able to make simple sentences.

Course content: Focus on learning more advanced sentence construction and sentence types.

Instructors will teach students the different types and structures of sentences, and will also learn "sign language quantifiers" and "common expressions of deaf people". Allow students to flexibly use the acquired sign language vocabulary and expression skills to describe scenes, stories, and events, such as news articles.

Tutors will give students a more in-depth understanding of the deaf community and culture, and allow students to better understand the skills of communicating with deaf people.

Face-to-face teaching (10 lessons, 120 minutes each): HK$780 for non-members; HK$680 for members 

Online teaching (12 lessons, 90 minutes each): HK$760 for non-members; HK$660 for members 

Sign Language Interpretation Class

The course is mainly designed for students with advanced levels or above in sign language. It aims to improve the level and skills of sign language interpreters and encourage more people to join the ranks of sign language interpreters.

 

Course content: Mainly teach commonly used professional vocabulary, including medical treatment, government service, and daily life vocabulary. As well as teaching the use of translation and interpretation and related skills, classroom exercises, etc. And provide internship opportunities to improve the ability to communicate and use sign language.

*Please note: Certificates do not fully represent professional qualifications for sign language interpreters. The course is designed to teach students all aspects of sign language interpreting, providing opportunities for students to equip themselves.

Face-to-face (20 hours):

HK$1200 for non-members; HK$850 for members

Sign language middle school

Suitable for students who have learned basic vocabulary.

Course content: After students have basic vocabulary knowledge, they will gradually learn how to make simple sentences.

The content includes short dialogues of different characters and preliminary learning of the sentence structure of sign language. At the same time, vocabulary content will be added to enable students to use and master more vocabulary to make sentences.

Face-to-face teaching (8 lessons, 120 minutes each): HK$680 for non-members; HK$580 for members 

Online teaching (10 lessons, 90 minutes each): HK$660 for non-members; HK$560 for members

Sign language advanced course

Suitable for students who want to delve deeper into sign language, such as doing research on a specific topic.

Course content: Students can learn more in-depth vocabulary from different topics, and at the same time fully master more advanced sign language vocabulary and sentence structure so that students can consolidate the basic knowledge of Hong Kong Sign Language.

In addition, the instructor will provide sign language videos for students to read and understand the sign language conversations, and try to translate the sign language conversations.

Face-to-face teaching (10 lessons, 120 minutes each): HK$880 for non-members; HK$780 for members 

Online teaching (12 lessons, 90 minutes each): HK$760 for non-members; HK$660 for members 

*All classes must have 80% attendance to receive a certificate.
